Current Position and Past Experience
Shannon McCarty is the Vice President Learning and Instructionat Calbright College

Previously, McCarty was the Associate Vice President of the Center for Innovation in Learning at National University in January, 2017. Prior to this, she served as Dean of Instruction and Academic Affairs at Rio Salado College, where she provided guidance and leadership to a broad spectrum of areas, including curriculum, grants and funding, business intelligence and institutional research. She served in multiple roles at Rio Salado between 2003-2016.

Education, Honors and Achievements
McCarty holds a Ph.D. in Professional Studies from Capella University and an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from Arizona State University. She received a B.S. in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Arizona.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
Outside of work, McCarty finds time to enjoy the outdoors! This includes spending time near the ocean, camping and travelling. She also competes in local triathlons. When she is not training, she's spending time with her 15-year-old son.
