Current Position and Past Experience
Jeffrey S. Russell is the Vice Provost for Lifelong Learning, the Dean of the Division of Continuing Studies, and a professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a co-founder of the university’s Construction Engineering and Management program.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Russell has a B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Cincinnati. He earned his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Purdue University and is a registered professional engineer in Wisconsin.

He was honored for his career in education as one of the American Society of Civil Engineers’ five winners of the Outstanding Projects and Leaders (OPAL) Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014. The award recognizes Russell’s contributions to civil engineering throughout his 25-year career.

In 2007 Russell was awarded the Engineering Educator Award from the American Society for Engineering Education.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
Russell serves on the UW Credit Union Board of Directors as well as the Advisory Board for the Wisconsin Center for Education Products & Services. He enjoys being outdoors, exercising, and doing activities—especially watching movies—with his family.
