James Funk | Professor of Business Technologies, Marion Technical College

Current Position and Past Experience
James Funk has been a Professor of Business Technologies at Marion Technical College since 1989. From 1986 to 2003 Funk also worked as a Counselor at Law with a number of firms and maintains a part-time practice handling probate matters, Chapter 7 bankruptcies and estate planning.

Funk served as a Judge Advocate in the United States Navy from 1983-1998.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Funk earned his BS Ed in Secondary Social Studies from Bowling Green University in 1972. He went on to earn his MEd in Guidance and Counseling from the same institution in 1974. In 1982, Funk earned his JD in Law from the University of Toledo College of Law.

He was earned his accreditation as a Certified Online Instructor (COI) through LERN.

Funk was recognized for Outstanding Service to Community Education in 1989 by the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers. In 2005 he earned the Chameleon Award from Marion Technical College.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
Funk serves as the academic veterans counselor at Marion Technical College.
