Current Position and Past Experience
Eric Riedel is currently the Chief Academic Officer at Walden University. Since joining Walden in 2005, Riedel has served as the university’s Director of Assessment, Executive Director for the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment, and Interim Executive Director for the Center for Research Support. Previously Riedel served as a principal investigator and research associate at the Center for Applied Research and Educational Improvement (CAREI) at the University of Minnesota.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Riedel earned his B.A. from the University of Michigan and a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. He has authored or co-authored 60 articles and presentations in the areas of educational assessment, online social engagement, and civic education. In addition, Riedel has served on the Board of Directors for the Association for the Assessment of Learning in Higher Education since 2009.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
He resides in the Minneapolis area with his wife, Aylin, and two children, Julius and Felix.
