Current Position and Past Experience
Beth Brunk-Chavez is the Dean of Extended University at the University of Texas at El Paso. She is also an associate professor in the Rhetoric and Writing Studies program and the former director of First-Year Composition at the University of Texas at El Paso. Her research is focused on the areas of teaching with technology; writing and technology; and composition pedagogy, assessment, and administration.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Brunk-Chavez received her BA from New Mexico State University, her MA from the University of Texas at El Paso, and her PhD from the University of Texas at Arlington. She received the 2009 University of Texas System Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Award and was named to the Academy of Distinguished Teachers in 2013.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
In her free time, Brunk-Chavez stays busy with her two sons’, Jackson and Carter, athletic and musical activities.
