Current Position and Past Experience
Robert Hill has been either going to school or teaching and working for schools almost his entire life. He is currently a Higher Education Consultant with Leadership & Planning Specialists, after spending nearly 12 years as an associate professor of Higher Education Leadership at Nova Southeastern University’s Abraham S. Fischler College of Education.

He taught high school English in the public school system for almost 10 years before beginning to work with adult learners in various higher education positions (i.e., Director of Student Services; Associate Dean, Coordinator of a Title III-Funded Academic Support Center, Academic Advisor, Coordinator of Student Teaching, Faculty Advisor, Department Chair, and Doctoral Enrollment Counselor) for the last twenty-four years at different private colleges.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Hill received his bachelor’s degree in English Education from the University of Florida in 1982 and a master’s degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from the University of South Florida in 1986. He holds an Ed.D. degree in Higher Education Administration from Nova Southeastern University.

In 1993-1994, he was awarded one of the two annual national graduate administrative fellowships at NSU’s main campus in Fort Lauderdale. He has served as the Co-PI on a National Science Foundation Grant, and he has also been awarded faculty research grants at two private universities, including NSU.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
Robert Hill was born in Brooklyn, NY, and has lived most of his life in Florida. He lives in South Florida with his wife, to whom he has been married for the last 30+ years. They have one daughter who works in Washington, DC.

He is passionate about student affairs and his current research focus is on the professoriate, shared governance, and online teaching. He has presented at both regional and national education conferences, and he has published articles on both academic affairs and student affairs related topics.
