Current Position and Past Experience
Paul Cochrane serves as the Director of Online Teaching and Learning at the University of Southern Maine, where he oversees the Center for Technology Enhanced Learning. He took on this role in 2015.

Prior to USM, Cochrane was the Director of the Faculty Center for Instructional Design and Educational Technology for Saint Joseph’s College of Maine, where he oversaw the instructional design, faculty training, and student technical support operations for the College’s online programs. During his tenure at Saint Joseph's College he worked in various other capacities, including as project manager for the implementation of a Sloan Foundation grant, working directly with students as an academic advisor, and teaching online courses in writing and business communications.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Cochrane holds a BA from Tufts University and an MA from The Pennsylvania State University. He is currently working on a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Educational Leadership from the University of Southern Maine.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
Cochrane has been involved with the University Professional and Continuing Education Association (UPCEA) since 2001. He has served in various capacities for UPCEA, including as Associate Chair for Professional Development for the Program Innovation Network from 2013-14, a member of UPCEA’s Board of Directors from 2012-13, and Chair of the New England Region in 2011.
