Marlene Tromp | President, Boise State University

Current Position and Past Experience
Marlene Tromp is currently President of Boise State University and has been in this position since 2019. Previously, she was Campus Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor at University of California Santa Cruz for two years. In 2011, she was at Arizona State University for five years serving as the Director of Humanities, Arts and Cultural Studies before becoming Dean and Vice Provost. She was also a professor at the University of Wyoming and Denison University.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Tromp holds a bachelor’s degree in English, as well as a master’s degree and PhD in English and Women’s Studies. She has been named a Idaho Business Review Woman of the Year, Arizona Higher Education Woman of the Year, served as President of the North American Victorian Studies Association and had received the Nineteenth-Century Studies Association and North American Victorian Studies Association President’s Award.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
Tromp is an avid runner and hiker, and also loves painting, drawing, and yoga.
