Current Position and Past Experience
Marilou Cruz is currently Director of Marketing and Communications in the G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education at Toronto Metropolitan University. Prior, she was a senior marketing and communications professional specializing in strategic planning and development, brand building, advertising, public relations and event management. She has over 20 years in developing and implementing integrated marketing and communications plans with a focus on measurable results to meet the organization's objectives. She is currently the Marketing and Communications Manager at The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education at Toronto Metropolitan University in Toronto, Canada. In her current role, she’s responsible for overseeing The Chang School’s centralized marketing unit that includes advertising, brand management, e-marketing, internal and external communications, media relations, promotions, print publications, social media marketing and website.
Prior to joining The Chang School in 2006, she spent 14 years in publishing. She was the Director of Marketing at Rogers Publishing working on national publications such as Maclean’s, Canadian Business, PROFIT, and MoneySense magazines. Prior to joining Rogers, she was the Marketing and Communications manager at St Joseph’s Media responsible for WHERE Toronto magazine and launched the first Annual Toronto Tourism Awards and the Most Memorable Meal Awards.
Personal Details and Community Involvement
Since 2012, Cruz has been a member of the Marketing Seminar Planning Committee at UPCEA. Since 2010, she has been the Chair of the Marketing Awards Committee with the Canadian Association for University Continuing Education. Also since 2010, Ceruz has been an Advisory Board member for the Recruiting and Retaining Adult Learners Newsletter.
Additionally, Cruz is a member of the Carlos Bulosan Theatre, a Filipino-Canadian theatre group based in Toronto, Canada.
