Current Position and Past Experience
Keir Thorpe has been the Senior Academic Practice Advisor at Brunel University since 2011. Prior to this, Thorpe spent a year as the Academic Services Manager at the University of Exeter. This came on the heels of the four years Thorpe spent as the Faculty Learning and Teaching Coordinator at the University of Southampton. Thorpe has also served as the Learning Development Officer at the Open University, holding that position from 2001-2005.

Thorpe has lectured at the Queen Mary University of London, the University of Westminster, the University of Bedfordshire and Kingston University. At Kingston University he also spent four months developing an online course on British history.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Thorpe earned his BA in History from the University of Warwick in 1990. In 1991 he earned his MA in European History from the University of East Anglia. Thorpe completed the course to earn his PGCE in History from Oxford, and he earned his PhD in British Economic Planning from the University of London.
