Current Position and Past Experience
Dr. Karen Pedersen is the Dean of Global Campus at Kansas State University, a position she took on in 2018. This followed three years as Chief Knowledge Officer for the Online Learning Consortium. Before stepping into that role, Pedersen served as the Associate Vice President for Extended Campuses at Northern Arizona University. For 11 years Pedersen was the Vice President for Professional Studies at Southwestern College. During this time, Pedersen was also an Evaluator with the Kansas Awards for Excellence. Earlier in her career, she also held the positions of Academic Associate and Dean at Upper Iowa University’s Extended University.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Pedersen earned her BS in Consumer Textiles and her MS in Textiles, Clothing and Design from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Pedersen earned her PhD in Philosophy from Oklahoma State University.
