John Kokolus | Founding Dean of the School of Continuing and Professional Studies (Retired), Elizabethtown College

Current Position and Past Experience
From February 2000 to July 2015 when he retired, John Kokolus served as the Dean of the School of Continuing and Professional Studies at Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania. Prior to this, Kokolus was the Director of Accelerated Degrees at Rosemont College for six years. Overlapping with some of these years, Kokolus served 22 years overseeing his own successful distributing business, serving as President of Jo-Capp, Inc. with sales of over $6,000,000.

Today, John serves as the lead Adult Learning Consultant of his own higher educational consulting business: MAIN Line Educational Associates.

Throughout his higher education career, John Kokolus has been a higher education innovator, developing and implementing new delivery formats and new faculty, academic and business models. He has served as a consultant to many adult learner focused programs. Kokolus has developed and delivered numerous faculty workshops ranging from faculty assessment to how to develop learning modules. He is an expert at program review.

Education, Honors and Achievements
John earned his BS degree from Georgetown University in Foreign Service and his MA in History from the Catholic University of America. He earned his Ph.D. in History from Temple University. Kokolus recently completed post-doctoral studies at Harvard University.

Kokolus was named Educator of the Year – Credit Programming by ACHE (Association of Continuing Higher Education.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
Kokolus is active in the international organization CAP (Council for Accelerated Programs)
