John Churchill | Vice President of Business Services, Greater Memphis Alliance for a Competitive Workforce

Current Position and Past Experience
John Churchill started his career in 1964 training Navy cadets on basic flight instruments. After 20 years of military service and 24 years of working with Fortune 500 companies such as Kimberly Clark and Nabisco, he finished his corporate career in major industries serving as a Training Manager for Gerdau Ameristeel. As the Training Manager, Churchill was responsible for both training and Industrial Training Systems for Gerdau Ameristeel’s North American steel mills.

Until February of 2015 John was the Executive Director of Corporate Training and Continuing Education for Southwest Tennessee Community College in Memphis

Most recently, he has become the Vice President of Business Services for the Greater Memphis Alliance for a Competitive Workforce, GMACW.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Churchill earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Illinois University. Churchill also earned his Senior Professional in Human Resources certification from the Society for Human Resource Management.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
Churchill has previously served as President and Board Member of the Memphis Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development.
