Jason Lemon | Vice Provost and Dean for Online Learning, The Ohio State University

Current Position and Past Experience
Jason Lemon is currently the Vice Provost and Dean of Online Learning at The Ohio State University and has been in the position since July 2023. Previously, he was Vice Provost and Dean for UC Online, University of Cincinnati. Prior, he was the Dean of Professional and Continuing Education at the University of San Diego. He also served as UC Berkeley Extension’s Associate Dean and Director of Online Education.

Dr. Lemon’s previous experience in the private sector included directorships at Compass Knowledge Group in Orlando, FL as the lead for Academic Partnerships and Distance Learning Services. His work in higher education began at Emory University where he supported the university's first online MBA program.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Dr. Lemon earned his Ph.D. in Latin American History and an M.A. in History at Emory University. He earned his B.A. in History at Brigham Young University.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
Lemon is active in online education and continuing education communities and has been a presenter for UPCEA and other professional organizations. His research and consulting activities bring together his professional and personal interests in online program development, operations, and achievement of student learning outcomes.
