Current Position and Past Experience
Since 1999, Debra Beck has served as the PR Coordinator for the College of Education at the University of Wyoming. Beck has held a number of positions at UW since she started in 1985, including nine years as the Assistant Director of the UW Alumni Association.

Since 2001, Beck has also served as a Freelance Adult Educator, focusing on nonprofit board development. She is an experienced adjunct instructor of online and hybrid (online and videoconferencing) courses on a range of nonprofit and boards topics. In 2007, she launched a blog, The Laramie Board Learning Project, focused primarily on nonprofit board development.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Beck earned her BA in journalism in 1981 from the University of Wyoming. She earned her Master’s in Sociology in 1993 and her MA in Communication (1998) from the same institution.

In 2009, Beck earned her EdD in Adult and Postsecondary Education from the University of Wyoming.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
Debra is a member of ARNOVA (Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action), most recently serving as professional development officer of the international organization’s teaching section. She also is a member of the eLearning Guild, American Society for Training and Development and the Alliance for Nonprofit Management.

In 2011, she received the Wyoming Distance Education Consortium (WyDEC) Master Distance Educator Award.
