Current Position and Past Experience
Davia Rose Lassiter is Director of Marketing in the College of Continuing and Professional Education at Kennesaw State University (KSU). In this capacity, Davia coordinates award-winning marketing campaigns and strategies on behalf of the College, including “I Did It,” the first college-wide marketing campaign for KSU CCPE. She joined CCPE in 2012 as a public relations specialist and was promoted to marketing manager and then director.
Prior to joining KSU, Davia served as a designer and editor, Copy Desk Chief, and Lifestyle Editor at Times Journal, Inc., from 2007-2012.
Education, Honors and Achievements
Davia Rose Lassiter attained her M.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Georgia in 2006. She holds several certificates from the College of Continuing and Professional Education at KSU including Creating Web Pages HTML, Business Acumen for Professionals, Business and Marketing Writing, and Social Media Marketing. She earned a B.A. in Journalism with a Business Administration minor from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2004.
Lassiter is the recipient of several marketing and journalism awards from professional associations such as ACHE, UPCEA and Georgia Press Association.
Personal Details and Community Involvement
Davia Rose Lassiter is passionate about serving her local community. She is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., serving in the Rho Zeta Omega Chapter in Cobb County, GA; a mentor at Hickory Hills Elementary School; and a Girl Scout troop leader. Davia is also a personal assistant to her 10-year-old Shih Tzu, Cookie. A few of Davia’s interests include traveling, hiking, yoga, cooking, performing arts, couponing, antique store shopping, and anything related to Beyoncé.
