Current Position and Past Experience
Dr. Daniel Apple is Founder and President of Pacific Crest, an educational consulting and publishing firm established in 1985. He is a leading expert on Process Education, an educational philosophy focusing on helping learners develop broad, transferable learning skills that empower them to improve their ability to learn and grow. In all his work, Dr. Apple strives to increase student and faculty success. As a hands-on leader, he has facilitated more than 1,000 faculty development events with more than 25,000 educational leaders. He is responsible for the initial creation and organization of the Academy of Process Educators, an independent, non-profit community of educators seeking change in education through the generation, dissemination and archiving of research based on the principles of Process Education. He has served as a paid consultant for several grants, including NSF Grants for Engineering Assessment and Learning Systems, Enriched Learning Environments, Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning and Institution-Wide Reform of STEM Instruction.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Dr. Apple holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Analysis from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, an M.S. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from Syracuse University, and a B.A. in Mathematics, Chemistry and Information Science from the University of California, Santa Cruz. He received the 25 Years of Service Award to Process Education Movement – Academy of Process Educators. Dr. Apple has published over 50 articles, 15 books and is the Designer of PC: SOLVE. He is the creator of Learning to Learn Camp and Psychology of Learning and Success.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
Approaching 4 million miles on American Airlines, Dr. Apple has driven consistently over 50,000 miles per year for thirty years, and has visited over 2,500 colleges. He teaches basketball and sailing to young people, and continues to offer growth experiences to everyone around him. Dr. Apple has two children who have lived a life of Learning to Learn. They both graduated from Philip Exeter and are now in college themselves.
