Current Position and Past Experience
Craig Munier is the Director of the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He has held this position for 16 years. Munier is a past National Chair of the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA), the Coalition of State University Aid Administrators (COSUAA), and the National Direct Student Loan Coalition (NDSLC).
Prior to joining the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Munier served as Associate Director of Financial Aid at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He also worked in financial aid at Iowa State University and in admissions at a small, private, liberal arts college and a community college.
Munier has served as a trainer for NASFAA and the U.S. Department of Education and has presented at numerous state, regional, and national financial aid conferences.
Education, Honors and Achievements
Munier received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Northern Iowa. He also holds a Master of Science in Higher Education – Student Personnel from Iowa State University.
He is a recipient of the Allan W. Purdy Distinguished Service Award, one of the highest awards bestowed by the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA).
Personal Details and Community Involvement
Craig is a self-described “serious recreational bicyclist” who has ridden across the State of Iowa 13 times as a participant in the “Registers Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI)” and once rode his bicycle from Durango to Breckenridge, CO as part of the “Ride the Rockies” bicycle tour.
He is also active in community service, a 10+ gallon blood donor, and an avid reader.
