Carla Hickman | Practice Manager, Education Advisory Board

Current Position and Past Experience
Since 2013, Carla Hickman has been a Practice Manager for the COE Forum with the Education Advisory Board. This is Hickman’s second term at EAB, having served in a Strategic Research role from 2008-2011. Between these two roles, Hickman was an MBA Business Analyst Intern for Postsecondary Success with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Hickman earned her BA from Colgate University in 2005. In 2007 she earned her MS, Childhood Education from Pace University. In 2013, Hickman earned her MBA in Social Entrepreneurship & Market Strategy from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.

Hickman was awarded the Mark Spreen Endowed Scholarship from the Duke University Fuqua School of Business in 2012. She was also presented with the Dean’s Distinguished Serve Award. She was also named an Advisory Board Company Fellow in 2010.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
Hickman is an active Teach For America alumna. She began her career in education as a 5th grade teacher in the Bronx, NY.
