Current Position and Past Experience
Brandon West currently serves as the Online Instruction/Instructional Design Librarian at the State University of New York (SUNY) Oswego, where he is developing online initiatives that support online learners. Prior to working at SUNY Oswego, Brandon honed his librarian skills at the Grand Rapids Public Library in Grand Rapids, MI. He is also a former elementary school teacher, having been a fourth grade teacher in Charleston, SC.
Education, Honors and Achievements
Brandon earned his BA in English and Elementary Education Certification from Grand Valley State University (GVSU) in 2008. In 2011, he earned his Master of Education in Educational Technology from GVSU. He graduated from Texas Woman’s University with his Master in Library Science in 2013. Addicted to learning, he is currently pursuing a Certificate of Graduate Study in Online Learning and Teaching from the University at Albany.
Personal Details and Community Involvement
Outside of work, Brandon is a foodie, enjoys taking naps, and tries to catch his two cat children in meme-worthy poses.
