Current Position and Past Experience
Sasha Thackaberry is currently Associate Vice Chancellor of Learning Experience Design Innovation at National University. Prior, she was Vice President for Online and Continuing Education at Louisiana State University. She joined LSU in 2018 after serving for two years at Southern New Hampshire University as Assistant Vice President of Academic Technology and New Learning Models in the College of Online and Continuing Education. Prior to that role, she was the District Director for eLearning Technologies in the Office of eLearning and Innovation at Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland, Ohio.

Thackaberry's focus areas include next generation learning models like Competency-Based Education, MOOCs, digital badging, alternative credentialing, PLA and the development of integrated ecosystems to support innovative learning environments.

She enjoys writing and has published articles as a guest blogger on e-Literate, WCET, and evoLLLution, as well as peer-reviewed publications for eLearn Magazine, Distance Learning, and the League for Innovation’s Learning Abstracts.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Thackaberry is currently working on her PhD in Higher Education Administration at Kent State University; the focus of her research is Competency-Based Education and the creation of a CBE taxonomy.

She is the co-recipient of the 2013 MOOC Award for Excellence through the Open Education Consortium, and a 2010 Innovation of the Year award through the League for Innovation.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
Outside of work, Thackaberry is a closet playwright with works produced at Ensemble Theater and Cleveland Public Theater, both in Northeast Ohio. She also enjoys reading bad mystery thrillers.
