Current Position and Past Experience
Zach Dane is currently the Director of Instructional Technology Operations at the New York City Department of Education where he and his team oversee the day to day and strategic operations of Instructional Technology Tools across 1,800 schools. He began his career as a Special Education Teacher in the Bronx, NYC where he taught Social Studies, Mathematics and Advanced Placement Computer Science.
Education, Honors and Achievements
Dane holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from Northeastern University. His doctoral research focused on the perceived efficacy of microcredentials and digital badges upon K-12 educators. He also holds a Master of Arts and a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Educational Leadership and Administration from The City College of New York, and a Master of Science in Special Education and Teaching and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies Teacher Education from Hofstra University.
Dane was the reciepent of the 2021 #NYCSchoolsTech Excellence in School Technology Award and has earned dozens of education-related microcredentials and digital badges.
Personal Details and Community Involvement
Dane serves as a national, regional and local volunteer with the American Cancer Society for which he is dedicated to raising funds for cancer research, prevention and support. He has been instrumental in establishing various programs and services throughout the organization and serves in various capacities. He also enjoys spending time with his family and exploring his surrounding community.
