Trenda Boyum-Breen | President, Rasmussen College

Current Position and Past Experience
Trenda Boyum-Breen has 20 years of experience in Higher Education, serving in leadership positions at various institutions throughout Minnesota and Texas. She was appointed President of Rasmussen College in 2015, prior to which she held the position of Executive VP and Chief Academic Officer. During her time at Rasmussen, Dr. Boyum-Breen has led several initiatives focused on experiential learning and introduced Competency-Based Education programs to the college. She also served as VP of Student Affairs at Metropolitan State University as well as Director of Academic Support at Capella University.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Dr. Boyum-Breen holds a B.A. in Psychology from Concordia College and a Masters of Science in Counselor Education from Winona State University. She earned her Doctorate of Education in Higher Education Administration at the University of Minnesota.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
Dr. Boyum-Breen sits on the board of the Jeremiah Program, a leading non-profit organization seeking to eliminate generational poverty by aiding single mothers and their families. She and her wife, Shelly, founded Level Field Enterprises, an organization dedicated to promoting sports in the lives of women and girls.
