Current Position and Past Experience
Timothy Gordon is the Dean of Students at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, a position he has held since 2013. Prior to this, Gordon was the Associate Dean of Student and Alumni Services at Northwestern University’s School of Continuing Studies for nine years. This followed three years as the Coordinator of Academic Services and Learning Communities at Illinois State University Gordon has also held administrative positions at Columbia College in Chicago and at Michigan State University.
Education, Honors and Achievements
Gordon earned his BA from Michigan State University in 1992. In 1995 he followed it up with an MA in Higher Adult and Lifelong Education at the same institution. He earned his PhD in Educational Administration and Foundations from Illinois State University in 2005.
Personal Details and Community Involvement
Dr. Gordon is an active member of the American College Personnel Association and currently serves as the association’s alternate director to the Council for the Advancement of Standards. He has also been active in community work related to supporting LGBT+ youth, adoption education, and assisting non-profits with strategic planning and leadership. He, his three kids, and dog are residents of Milwaukee, WI.
