Current Position and Past Experience
Susan Johnson currently serves and the Director of Impact and Research and Lumina Foundation. Johnson started at Lumina Foundation in 2008 as a Strategy Officer and later took on the role of Director of Equity. Prior to joining Lumina, Johnson held a number of positions at universities across the United States, including Lousiana State University, the University of North Dakota and Indiana University Bloomington.
She is a Co-editor of
Standing on the Outside Looking In: Underrepresented Students’ Experiences in Advanced Degree Programs. Johnson is also actively involved in the Board of Grantmakers for Education and she’s on the executive team of Indiana Blacks in Philanthropy.
Education, Honors and Achievements
Johnson earned her BS in Psychology, her MS in Social Psychology and her M.Ed in Student Personnel from the University of Florida. In 2007, Johnson earned her PhD in Higher Education from Indiana University Bloomington.
