Current Position and Past Experience
Stephen Crawford is currently a research professor at George Washington University’s Institute of Public Policy and co-director of its Program on Skills, Credentials & Workforce Policy. Previosly he was a senior manager at Brookings and the National Governors Association, the executive director of research centers In Cambridge, MA and College Park, MD and of the MD workforce investment board, and a college professor.
Education, Honors and Achievements
Crawford holds a Doctor of Philsophy in Political and Economic Sociology from Columbia University. He also has a MGA in Public Finance from the University of Pennsylvani’s Wharton School and a Bachelor of Arts in government from Cornell University.
Personal Details and Community Involvement
An Army and combat veteran, Crawford notes that that the most intense conflict he’s encountered was as a member of a county school board that was redrawing district boundaries after the building of a new high school.
