Current Position and Past Experience
Stacey Güney is the Director of the ACCelerator at the Highland Campus of Austin Community College – the world’s largest “learning emporium” where she is responsible for the integration of all college departments. The ACCelerator is part of the first phase of the conversion of the former Highland Mall which is revitalizing an Austin landmark, an area rich in history, with a focus on expanding access to higher education, improving student success, and training an elite workforce to help regional businesses grow. The first phase, the former JCPenneys, open in the Fall of 2014 and includes the use of technology in order to facilitate targeted instruction and student services to create a personalized and modularized approach for students. The immersion of student services throughout all aspects of this new environment will result in a state-of-the art center for innovative learning, training excellence, and community engagement. Prior to this, Güney served as a consultant in higher education as the Director of Space Utilization and Master Planning at Facility Programming and Consulting. Overseas, she worked on the launch of the Dubai Cares charity and as a consultant in planning, regeneration, and development.

She is looking forward to attending the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) Technology and Transfer Conference in July as the opening plenary speaker.
