Sherry Scamardo | Program Director, Collin College

Current Position and Past Experience
Sherry Scamardo is currently the Program Director of SAIL (Scholars Active in Learning) at Collin College and has been with Collin since 2015. Her previous roles include administrative assistant and executive assistant to the Vice President. Prior, she was administrative assistant at Neal Ashmore Family Law Group. Sherry is an advocate for the senior population and feels that her current position gives her the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students in the SAIL program and sets an example to all students that “learning never stops!”

Education, Honors and Achievements
Scamardo holds a Bachelor of Arts in Family and Consumer Sciences at Sam Houston State University. She was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority. She was awarded the Rose Award through Collin College which represents the highest honor for full-and part-time staff. She previously had been honored as a finalist for the Rose Award as well.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
Sherry has been on the City of Plano Senior Advisory Board for the past two years; she heads up the SAIL Advisory Council and is a published artist in the Collin College Forces Journal Publication (2023). She enjoys volunteering on the Collin College scholarship selection committee and helping with the college’s “All College Day” event. She has two sons, one studying physics and the other a veterinarian in Las Vegas.
