Current Position and Past Experience
Sally Welch is currently Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at Lansing Community College. As provost, her key focus is supporting student success, providing academic and nonacademic resources to help students while they are enrolled in college-level courses, and providing supports and resources for faculty. She also leads LCC toward creating innovative, flexible academic programs that prepare students for careers in cutting-edge fields.
Welch's career in higher education began as a chemistry professor at Marygrove College in Detroit. In addition to teaching, she held a number of leadership roles there, including co-chair of the Science and Mathematics Division, Faculty Assembly vice president, interim dean of New Program Development, and provost. Personal Details and Community Involvement
When not working, I try to be outside as much as possible doing yard work, camping or hiking. I also am an avid mystery reader. I typically listen to a book a week.
