Current Position and Past Experience
Robert Ubell is the Vice Dean Emeritus of Online Learning at New York University’s School of Engineering. Ubell was first appointed to the position in January of 2014. He is also senior editor of CHLOE 9, produced by Quality Matters and Eduventures.

Robert is also a part-time Senior Advisor for the Stevens Institute of Technology.

Robert Ubell is the author of three books. Going Online: Perspectives on Digital Learning and its recent follow up Staying Online: How to Navigate Digital Higher Education. He also penned Virtual Teamwork: Mastering the Art and Practice of Online Learning and Corporate Collaboration

Education, Honors and Achievements
Ubell earned his Bachelor’s in English from Brooklyn College and is a recipient of the A. Frank Mayadas Leadership Award. He is a Fellow of the Online Learning Consortium and serves on the Advisory Board of the Online Learning journal.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
His wife is a professor of art history at Barnard College, Columbia University. He has two daughters and three grandchildren living across the U.S. in New York, Maryland, Virginia and California.
