Current Position and Past Experience
Paul Paparella is an experienced higher education professional with a background in international education, experiential learning, intercultural competency building and assessment, study abroad program development, risk management for study away programs. He also specializes in U.S.-based programs with internships, curricular integration; student engagement and advising.

He has worked at higher education institutions and nonprofit organizations such as the School for International Training (SIT); Duke University, and most recently, Clemson University. Paparella worked as the Assistant Director of the Global Education Office for Undergraduates at Duke University from 2006 until 2018.

He also worked as a Study Abroad Coordinator at the School for International Training in Brattleboro, Vermont, from 2002 to 2006.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Paparella earned his Ph.D. in Educational Policy and Research Analysis with a specialization in Higher Education Administration from North Carolina State University in 2018.

He also has a Master’s degree in International Studies from the State University of New York at Albany, and a Bachelor’s in Political Science from Siena College.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
Paparella lives in Anderson, South Carolina, and enjoys spending time with his family as well as volunteering for a local organization, the Lot Project, that serves members of the community in need. He is an avid reader and particularly fond of historical biographies.
