Current Position and Past Experience
Michelle Marks is the Vice President of Academic Innovation and New Ventures at George Mason University, a position she has held since 2016. In support of Mason’s “access to excellence” mission, Marks is leading strategic partnerships designed to deliver online programming at scale, create pathway programming for international students and increase adult degree completion for a diverse student population. Marks has been at the University since 2012, first as a Professor of Management and later as Vice Provost for Academic Affairs before starting her current position.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Michelle Marks earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Business from James Madison University and a PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from George Mason University. In 2006, she received the George Mason University Teaching Excellence Award. She also earned the Executive MBA Professor of the Year award in 2008 and 2011.
