Melissa Irvin | Assistant Dean of Advising and Analytics, University of South Florida

Current Position and Past Experience
Dr. Melissa Irvin serves as the Assistant Dean of Advising and Analytics at the University of South Florida, a position she has held since August, 2017. In this capacity, Irvin provides leadership for the Office of Academic Advocacy and Academic Services within USF Athletics, and supports, advocates and represents the university’s decentralized professionalized academic advising community.

Prior to joining the University of South Florida, Irvin was Assistant Vice President for Student Success at Tennessee Technological University and an Adjunct Faculty Member in TTU’s College of Education. Irvin was also a 2014 Maxine Smith Fellow and a Student Services Coordinator at Daymar Institute.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Irvin earned her B.A. in Psychology from Duke University and her M.Ed. in Education Leadership from Middle Tennessee State University. Later on, Irvin earned her Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership and Policy from Vanderbilt University.
