Current Position and Past Experience
Ken Downs has been part of the Scholarship Universe team since its inception in 2009. Prior to this, he was a scholarship counselor and financial aid administrator at the University of Arizona and a Clinical Support Associate at the University of Michigan Health System.

Ken is a regular presenter at the National Scholarship Providers Association (NSPA) annual conference, the largest annual scholarship conference in the nation. Some of his presentation topics include: Scholarship Hacking: Cutting the Gordian Knot; Big Data and the Coming Scholarship Sea Change; and The Scholarship Universe Story.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Ken Downs earned his B.A. in Psychology from the University of Michigan in 2002.

Downs led Scholarship Universe to two national awards; the 2012Campus Technology Innovators Award and the 2015 University Business Models of Excellence Award.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
Originally a Michigander, Ken most enjoys spending time with his wife and three dogs in their home in Tucson, Arizona. He has more interests than time for them, but loves nature, animals, reading, and really bad sports teams — go Detroit Lions! — because he is loyal to a fault. His bucket list includes meeting Stephen Colbert, finding enlightenment, and finally cleaning his garage.
