Current Position and Past Experience
Joseph Thiel is currently Interim Deputy Commissioner for Academic, Research and Student Affairs, Montana University System. Previously he was the director of Academic Policy and Research. Prior he was a junior consultant at Natural Resource Governance Institute. He was also a research assistant in the department of economics at Montana State University.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Thiel holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Education and a Master of Science in Education from the University of Oxford.
