Current Position and Past Experience
John Cavanaugh was the President and CEO of Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area from 2013 until 2020. Prior, he was Chancellor at Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. Cavanaugh was also President of the University of West Florida for six years.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Cavanaugh holds a Doctor of Philosophy, Psychology from the University of Notre Dame, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of Delaware.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
John is married to Dr. Christine K. Cavanaugh. They greatly enjoy landscape and wildlife photography, hiking, traveling, and cooking creative meals. John serves on several boards of and actively supports non-profit organizations that focus on education.
