Current Position and Past Experience
Jarl Jonas currently serves as the Program Director for CourseSitesā¢ by Blackboard. Before taking on this role, he was a Senior Manager in Blackboardās consulting division. Jarl also serves as an Adjunct Instructor for Excelsior Collegeās School of Business and Technology.
Prior to joining Blackboard, Jarl was the Director of Online and Corporate Learning Development at New York Universityās School of Continuing and Professional Studies. He also taught Secondary Language Arts for a short while in New Jersey.
Education, Honors and Achievements
Jarl earned his BA in Secondary Language Arts Instruction from Penn State University in 1993. In 1997 he earned his Masterās in Higher Education Administration from New York University.
Personal Details and Community Involvement
Aside from education and technology, Jarl has a deep passion for travel and culinary arts. He likes to learn about the history of various cultures, particularly exploring the scenery and cuisine of places around the world. In his current home town of Washington, DC, Jarl volunteers in local soup kitchens to feed the homeless and like to play tennis and volleyball.
