Current Position and Past Experience
Jan Thomas is current the Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Southern Queensland, a role she began in 2012. From 2010 she was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research and Quality and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Fremantle, University of Notre Dame Australia. Prior to this Thomas spent seven years as Pro/Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic at Murdoch University in Western Australia.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Thomas earned her PhD from Murdoch University in 1997, received her Master of Veterinary Studies (Pathology), from the University of Melbourne in 1986, her Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery, Murdoch University in 1983 and Bachelor Science (Veterinary Biology) from Murdoch University in 1981. Thomas is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Member of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists.
