Insiya Bream | Registrar and Associate Vice President, University of Maryland Global Campus

Current Position and Past Experience
Insiya Bream is the Registrar and Associate Vice President at the University of Maryland Global Campus. There, she is responsible for the teams that make admissions decisions, evaluate, and manage transcripts, the data and systems teams responsible for data in the Student Information System, as well as graduation services. In her role, Insiya also serves as a bridge between the Academic Operations Registrar functions and the Academic Affairs Administrative functions that defines a students’ academic and administrative pathways.

Previously at UMGC, Bream was the Assistant Vice Provost of Data and Systems and before that, Director of Admissions.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Bream earned her MBA from UMGC, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Elizabethtown College. Insiya received the Parchment Award for Excellence in 2018 for work at UMGC to develop at CLR.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
Outside of work, Insiya enjoys spending time with her 3 children, and learning the simple joys of life again through their eyes. She also enjoys playing trivia, baking, and nature.

Connect
Insiya has contributed to written works through IMS Global, AACRAO, and NASPA on the topic of Digital Credentialing. Most recently, in 2021 she contributed to a podcast for Insidehighered titled “A Better Transcript for Learners and Employers.” And was interviewed by the Tambellini Group as part of their Women in Technology series (2022).
