Current Position and Past Experience
Brett is currently Global Head of University Partnerships at Coursera. Prior, he was Senior Vice President at Kaplan where he worked with university leaders to identify ways to help them better achieve their mission through innovative, new strategies and solutions.
Brett has more than 20 years of experience in the global education and training sector, having served in leadership roles at a number of leading global companies in the space – including Ruffalo Noel Levitz, Pearson, EverFi and Blackboard. Brett has a special interest in ensuring that a company’s solutions align to its customers’ goals and metrics, along with the identification and sharing of industry best practices to help drive client success.
Brett’s earlier career was with Hallmark Cards, Inc. where he began his career with over a decade of experience in consumer product sales, marketing, and sales management.

Brett holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Kansas.
Personal Details and Community Involvement
Brett lives in Arlington, Virginia with his wife and young daughter. When not in the middle of a pandemic, Brett enjoys traveling globally with his family. Closer to home, he is active philanthropically – notably as a board member at Young Audiences of Maryland, an organization focused on incorporating the arts into K-12 schools and as a mentor and speaker for his alma mater’s Washington, D.C. internship program.
