Current Position and Past Experience
Andrea Gregg, PhD is a Director of Learning Experience Design and Associate Research Professor at Penn State in the Mechanical Engineering department. Prior to this role, she worked for Penn State World Campus starting as an Instructional Designer then becoming a Manager of Instructional Design and eventually an Associate Director of Research and Evaluation. She has teaching experience in online and residential contexts. She is also co-author of the 2024 Routledge book High-Impact Design for Online Courses: Blueprinting Quality Digital Learning in Eight Practical Steps.
Education, Honors and Achievements
Gregg holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Learning, Design and Technology, and a Master of Arts in Communication Arts and Sciences from Penn State University. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Math and History from Northwestern University. She received the Robert M. Gagne Award for Graduate Student Research in Instructional Design.
Personal Details and Community Involvement
Gregg loves anything to do with water – being near it, on it or in it! She also has a loveable but challenging rescue doggie who is a consummate hunter (e.g., trees, squirrels and other wildlife in the woods) yet is terrified of unopened umbrellas.
