Current Position and Past Experience
Amardeep Kahlon is currently Dean of Unity College. Prior, she was Assistant Dean of Distance Learning and External Relations at Austin Community College and has been with this institution since 1996. Some of the roles that she served in includes Director of Women in Technology, Director of Fast Track to Success and a professor. She is also a member on the board of directors of the Competency-Based Education Network. As director of the Fast Track to Success project, she worked to expand competency-based education across Texas through mentoring. In 2016 she founded Texas’ signature conference CBE, distance learning, learning technologies, and related innovation that enhances adult teaching and learning. In 2013, she served as Dean of Academics at BML Munjal University in India for one year.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Kahlon holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education Administration from the University of Texas at Austin, as well as a Master’s in Computer Science from State University of New York at Binghamton. She has been awarded the NISOD Excellence in Teaching award.
Personal Details and Community Involvement
In her spare time, Amardeep likes to travel (pre-COVID), read, walk/hike, and watch British TV shows. She is a community volunteer. For 15 years she coached Destination Imagination and Odyssey of the Mind teams, and has volunteered at numerous community events.
