Current Position and Past Experience
Rafael Pasillas is currently Director of Initiatives at CAEL. He brings more than 15 years of combined experience working in higher education leadership positions, including student advising, student affairs training, community relations, partnership development, and consulting roles.

In Pasillas’s time with CAEL, he has served as Director of Partner Services for LearningCounts, where he worked with CAEL’s LearningCounts and PLA Accelerator partners to consult, train, and support their Prior Learning Assessment and adult learner efforts. In his current role, he has the opportunity to work within the postsecondary education community to continue to assist institutions in finding ways to better support and grow not only their adult learner populations, but underserved populations as well.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Pasillas earned his bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University and is an advocate for postsecondary education for underserved populations.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
In his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities, movies, and spending time with his wife and two children.
