Current Position and Past Experience
Michele Gribbins is currently the Director of the Center for Online Learning, Research, and Service (COLRS) at the University of Illinois Springfield, after serving as its Acting Director and Associate Director. Prior to joining COLRS, she taught full-time in the Management Information Systems department at UIS. Previously, she taught courses as a doctoral student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and worked as a Computer Training Specialist for the Center for Business & Industry at Lake Land College in Mattoon, Illinois.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Gribbins completed her Doctor of Education in Instructional Systems Technology from Indiana University in 2023 and completed all the coursework for a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She completed a Master of Business Administration from Eastern Illinois University in 1999, and a Bachelor of Finance from Illinois State University in 1995. She also holds an Online Learning Administrator certificate from the Illinois Online Network. She received the Past Presidents’ Award for Outstanding Service from the Illinois Council of Continuing Higher Education in 2020.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
Having visited all 50 states, Michele enjoys traveling especially those that involve hiking, kayaking, and canoeing. She also enjoys cheering on her sons at their high school and university sporting events.
