Michael Jones | Assistant Director of Alumnae/i Outreach and Partnerships, Vassar College

Current Position and Past Experience
Michael Jones currently serves as the Assistant Director of Alumnae/i Outreach and Partnerships at Vassar College. Prior to joining Vassar College, Jones worked at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania as an Assistant Director of Admissions and Diversity Recruiter. During this time, Jones also served as an Executive Board Member for the Pennsylvania College Personnel Association (PCPA). For two years, Jones taught psychology as an Adjunct Instructor at Penn State University Greater Allegheny. Jones started at Penn State University working on the Fayette Campus as a Career Counselor, an Academic Internship Coordinator and then an Interim Coordinator for the Center for Experiential Education.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Jones earned his Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy from Seton Hill University and his Master’s in Social Work from California University of Pennsylvania. He is currently interested in pursing a doctorate degree in Community Engagement or Organizational Behavior with intentions to start in prior to Fall of 2020. The award he is most proud of is his Showcase Program Award from the 2012 Career Convergence Conference in Madison, WI. Jones has also presented at local, state, and other national conferences on a variety of topics related to the intersection of social media and career & professional development.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
Outside of work, Jones finds time to enjoy his love for music by singing and playing guitar or piano. He is also into fashion and cars and spends time thinking of how to incorporates those interest into his career. One of his goals is to be a TV show extra or a small role in Law and Order or Empire.
