Current Position and Past Experience
Since 2011, Karen Adams has served as the Corporate Marketing Director for the University of Wisconsin-Platteville’s Distance Learning Center. Prior to this, she spent three years as the Information Director for the Greater Dubuque Development Group. This followed six years as the Regional Economic Development Coordinator with the East Central Intergovernmental Association.
Education, Honors and Achievements
Adams earned her BA from Clarke University in Communications, with an emphasis in Public Relations, in 1998. She graduated summa cum laude as a non-traditional age student.
She was selected to Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges by faculty and senior class on the basis of scholarship, leadership, cooperation in educational and extracurricular activities, general citizenship, and future promise, and she was bestowed the Communication TimeSaver Award, which honors the TimeSaver student who best exemplifies the adult student academically and professionally.
Personal Details and Community Involvement
Adams volunteers in many capacities, most notably with community events. She has been involved in the annual Music In The Park festival in Asbury, Iowa, for over 15 years, as well as the Asbury Halloween Parade and more. She is an avid bowler and enjoys traveling.
