David Di Maria | Vice Provost of Global Engagement, University of Maryland Baltimore County

Current Position and Past Experience
David Di Maria is currently Vice Provost of Global Engagement at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC). Previously he was appointed Associate Vice Provost of International Education at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) in August 2017. In this capacity, Di Maria catalyzes international engagement across the university and works with campus leadership and the UMBC community to expand international activities and opportunities for the university’s faculty and students. He supervises all programs in the Office of International Education Services, including visa processing for international research scholars, faculty and students; educational activities abroad; and short-term, faculty-led international programs.

Prior to joining UMBC, Di Maria served as Associate Vice Provost for International Programs at Montana State University-Bozeman and as Director of International Programs and Services at Kent State University.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Dr. Di Maria holds an Ed.D. in Educational Policy and Administration (International and Intercultural Education) from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. He holds an M.Ed. in English from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and completed Graduate Studies in Higher Education Administration at St. Cloud State University. He holds Bachelor degrees in English and International Studies.
