Current Position and Past Experience
Tim Tesar is Assistant Director of International Admissions at Iowa State University, where he has been for the past five years. Prior to joining Iowa State, Tim was the Director of International Admissions at Valparaiso University in Indiana. Tim has worked in international enrollment and higher education administration for eight years, including past positions at Columbia College and UCLA. Prior to working in higher education, Tim worked for the United States Olympic Committee. Tim is the past-President of Study Iowa, and has served in various leadership capacities for NAFSA Region IV. Tim has presented at various professional conferences including EducationUSA Triennial, OACAC, ACT Enrollment Planners and NAFSA Regional.
Education, Honors and Achievements
Tesar earned his B.A. in Public Relations and Marketing and his M.S. in Adult Learning and Organizational Performance from Drake University. Tesar is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Administration from Iowa State University.
Personal Details and Community Involvement
Tesar is a native Iowan, and enjoys spending time with his family, running, golfing, biking and most other outdoor activities in his free time.
