Current Position and Past Experience
Mark Leuba is a technology leader with particular expertise in online higher education. As Vice President of Product Management at IMS Global, Leuba coordinates the development and execution of the consortium’s product management strategy and helps adapt the IMS education technology standards portfolio to a robust, evolving market for technology solutions in education, such as IMS’ pioneering technical standards for skills-based micro-credentials. Prior to IMS Global, Leuba served as Managing Director for Pathway Technology Partners from 2010 to 2015, where he provided advisory and strategic services in online K-20 education for leading foundations, public, and for-profit academic institutions. In 2009, Leuba was appointed Chief Technology Officer for Moodlerooms, a leading provider of open source learning management solutions. Here, Leuba led the company’s customer-wide transition to cloud-based platform services: the largest migration of its kind in online education at the time. From 2005 to 2009, Leuba served as Chief Information Officer for American Public University System, where he developed and executed a five-year plan laying the technology foundation for unparalleled growth in the University’s online programs. Before joining APUS, Leuba held leadership roles in corporate IT, including nine years as Vice President of Applications for Random House, the world’s largest consumer trade publisher.
