Current Position and Past Experience
Dr. Larry Goodwin is the 11th president of The College of St. Scholastica, a position he has held since 1999. He served as interim president beginning in 1998. Goodwin joined St. Scholastica in 1987, serving as vice president for academic affairs and as dean of faculty. Earlier, he spent more than a decade at the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, MN, as an associate professor of theology, chair of the Department of Theology and as associate academic dean.

Goodwin earned his doctoral degree in theology from the University of Chicago.
Personal Details and Community Involvement
Goodwin currently serves as chair of the Association of Benedictine Colleges and Universities, is a board member and past chair of the Minnesota Private College Council, and is a board member of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities. He is past chair of Minnesota Campus Compact, past board member of the Council of Independent Colleges, and he served as a consultant/evaluator with the Higher Learning Commission for five years. He currently serves the Duluth, MN, community as campaign co-chair of the United Way of Greater Duluth.
